Management of Scheme Funds:
Funding for this scheme will be arranged by the state government. The allocated funds will be made available to the Assistant Director of the District Child Protection Unit from the Directorate of Social Welfare. Subsequently, the Assistant Director of the District Child Protection Unit will transfer the funds to the bank account of the beneficiary’s parent or guardian.
Benefits: Target Group: This scheme targets girl children born from the date of the issuance of the notification. It is applicable to only two girl children per family and is exclusive to residents of Bihar.
Nature of Grant: An initial amount of Rs. 2,000 will be transferred to the parents or guardians of every girl child aged between 0 to 1 year. Upon completion of the first year and Aadhaar registration, an additional amount of Rs. 1,000 will be deposited into the same account.
Eligibility: To qualify for this scheme, girl children must be residents of Bihar, and their births must be duly registered. The benefits are applicable only to girl children born after the issuance of the notification and limited to two per family. Upon fulfilling all conditions, Rs. 2,000 will be disbursed for the first child, and Rs. 1,000 for the second child aged 1-2 years.
Application Process: Online: To take advantage of this scheme, the application form will be available at all Anganwadi centers of the Child Development Project.
